I am an emerging realist oil painter largely focused on animals. My art has developed through workshops, independent study and three years at a classic Russian Atelier.  However I am neither my education nor my awards.  Let me give you a peek into my philosophy and what shapes me and my art.

As an animal artist I feel conflict between the joy of their being and the tragedy of their plight. My goal in sharing my images is to cause a little celebration, to make your face smile and perhaps to encourage you to be not a taker, but a caretaker of our shared planet.

Most of us cannot affect the world, but we can speak to our village.  Come with me and my art and be reminded of the wisdom of Chief Seattle, 1854:

“Man did not weave the web of life – he is merely a strand in it.
Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.”
